CITYBOOK LISBON

ALKANTARA FESTIVAL
Citybooks is European project that links international writers and photographers to a selection of cities across the continent and beyond. The result is a collection of subjective and stimulating city portraits that reflect the complex identity of a cultural patchwork. Up till now there are Citybooks on Bucharest (Romania), Charleroi (Belgium), Chartres (France), Ghent (Belgium), Grahamstown (South Africa), Graz (Austria), Lublin (Poland), Ostend (Belgium), Semarang (Indonesia), Sheffield (UK), Skopje (Republic of Macedonia), Tbilisi (Georgia), Turnhout (Belgium), Utrecht (Netherlands), Venice (Italy) and Yerevan (Armenia).
Between now and the end of 2014, Alkantara will host the conception of a Lisbon Citybook. Besides Tim Etchells, who will write a texto about the city, the following artists will participate: Sus Van Elzen, Dulce Maria Cardoso, José Maria Viera Mendes, Patrícia Portela and photographer Maria Fialho. The Lisbon Citybook will be available as a book, webtext, e-book and podcast in Portuguese, English, Dutch, French and German.
